paint stuff

I know, its been taking forever, but I bought some clear coat that was out of stock, and I just got it today.

I sanded some corrosion and flaking paint off and fainted this stuff flat white

Still got this side of the bumper to go

I filled in that hole in the center of the, well, i dont know what part of the car that would be called.  The part above the trunk lid.

I glued in a piece of plastic

One its fully dry, (takes a couple days) ill sand it down a little and then ill be ready to paint the car

The clear coat that I just got

should be done this sunday

yes, these are the bulbs in case you couldnt tell

front and rear windshields removed and rear quarter windows, dash board too

took out the rear decklid, masked it off, sanded it, filled the badge holes, and sanded some more

headlight covers, filled the dent on one of them

painted the inside plastic trim black, hopefully thatll stick

still need to mask off/take off the front bumper

body work on the front right fender

masked off where the front windshield was and primed the lip of the window/edge

there was some rust there

i think im going to wire brush this spot some more to make sure all the rust and paint flakes are off and then re-prime it

heres the sunroof plug i made in its final stage of completion

ive spent a lot of hours on it, and its pretty good now, not perfect, but not bad

ill be painting it either this weekend or the next, depending on when I can get clearcoat

and i almost forgot, i got the paint in the mail this week

its a metallic blue, it comes in bags of powder that you then mix with clearcoat to get the paint

its pretty cheap, so im hoping it will come out well

(this amount in shown makes 1-2 gallon depending on how transparent you want it, so im planning on using this amount to make about 1.25 gallons, and then spraying some more plain clearcoat over that.)

yeah, so i bought some 8000k hid xenons off of ebay, they brand new and might I add, they look great.  Theyre H3 single bulb, so they will be going in my fog lights and I want to get some high & low ones for my main lights, but those will be a real pain to convert.

paint prep light covers

so ive been masking stuff off, i took off all the windows and taped hub the two rear quarters and the rear one.  I took of the light covers, washed them, and I will be painting the little plastic inner covers black and the white outer ones will be painted with the rest of the car.

so ive been doing a lot of sanding, this upcoming weekend I should be finally painting my car.  im doing it metallic blue, it should look decent.  I need to take out all the windows and take off the bumpers and probably the trunk and rear decklid too and side skirts.  I think Im going to leave the doors on cause I dont want to have to deal with all of the wiring.  then ill mask it all off and stuff and put on the paint.
